About Againstauthority Remodeling and How Referrals Work
Talk to a local provider
Who we are
Againstauthority Remodeling is a referral service for homeowners planning a bathroom or kitchen remodel. We are not a contractor. We do not swing hammers, set tile, or hang cabinets. Independent local providers do that. Our job is the introduction, and we try to make it a clear one.
Why this site exists
A lot of people think a referral site is a middleman that hides who really does the work. That worry is fair, so we say it up front. Remodeling is a big decision. Many homeowners do not know where to start, who to trust, or what to ask. We exist to make that first conversation easier.
How a project gets matched
You tell us what you have in mind. It might be a tub swapped for a walk-in shower, a walk-in tub for easier bathing, a custom bathroom renovation, or a kitchen refresh. We look at the type of project and where you live. Then we route it to an independent provider in the network who handles that kind of work in your area.
Request a callback to check provider availability, or send a request instead. Call hours vary by provider, so first contact depends on who is matched.
What we expect from providers
Providers in the network are independent businesses. We ask them to:
- Hold the licenses and insurance that local rules require
- Explain scope, materials, and timing in everyday words
- Put quotes in writing
- Treat your home with care
- Say so plainly if a job is not a fit
We do not run their jobs or set their prices.
Which projects fit
Myth: any job will do. Reality: this network focuses on full-room projects, especially bathing-area work like tub and shower conversions. Small fixes are not a fit, and mobile homes are not served.
What we do not do
- We do not do the remodeling work.
- We do not set prices or sign contracts for you.
- We do not promise a provider's schedule.
- We do not promise insurance will pay. Some policies may cover sudden damage, so check your policy.
How we are paid
Homeowners do not pay Againstauthority Remodeling to be connected. Providers in the network pay a referral fee when we introduce them to a project. You pay the provider only for the work you agree to in writing. That is the whole model, with no hidden step.
Seasons and timing
Myth: remodeling only happens in spring. Reality: the interior work for a bathroom can go ahead through cold winters with deep frost. Provider calendars tend to fill when the weather turns, after spring flooding or a summer hailstorm. Asking early gives you more choice about timing.
